Gob Forming

ProtaTherm® gob tubes can be used to assist with the delivery of the glss gobs to the chutes. The gob tubes are made to individual customer specifications, these can be supplied finished with profile, or semi-finished for end-user machining per the job requirements.

The use of Protatherm graphite in this application will reduce the use of pressured air or water for cooling. This making the environment surrounding the gob transport cleaner and reduce the use of expensive pressured air.

ProtaTherm® gob deflector (rejector/interceptor) plates provide a smooth surface to reduce sticking issues and to guide the gob precisely into the cullet chute. While standard Prothatherm grades work well in most applications, superior grades have been developed for more challenging situations.

In addition these deflector plates can be supplied in any form from standard solid plates to custom-machined with cooling holes.
